What are the aggravating factors of acne?

75% of young people suffer from acne during their adolescence.

According to dermatologist Dr Aurelie Acher of Hyfac, a French laboratory which produces a complete range of pharmaceutical products to treat acne, there are several aggravating factors:

First, sugary foods including candies, chocolates or cakes but also the high consumption of dairy products can cause a rapid rise in the level of insulin and of insulin growth factor 1 (IGF 1). In response, the sebaceous glands will produce more sebum, leading to acne.

Another contributing factor of acne is the sun. A skin damaged by the sun’s rays will thicken and the pores may clog, thus promoting the appearance of blackheads.

An additional cause is stress. When someone is nervous, he or she will release stress hormones which increase the production of sebum.

Moreover, tobacco slows the healing of wounds and therefore aggravates acne marks or scars. The nicotine in tobacco reduces the blood supply to the skin and hence, the intake of reparative molecules.
To fight acne and obtain a beautiful as well as clear skin, there is a range of Hyfac products available in pharmacies.

Manufactured in France, they cleanse, treat and maintain a healthy skin. Their effectiveness has been proven since over 30 years. For more information, please click on www.hyfac.fr
